Round 1
23 ARTISTS // 15 PROJECTS

23 ARTISTS
15 PROJECTS
We collaborated on 15 projects with a variety of artists across multiple disciplines. Thanks to their openness, honesty, and willingness to share, we have learned an incredible amount. Year two will build upon these learnings as we continue to evolve and shape our approach to catalyzing a new cultural renaissance.
Quiet supported projects with artists across:
- Public art
 - Visual arts
 - Film
 - Dance
 - Books
 - Music
 - Photography

From our learnings, three broad categories of projects have emerged:
- Individual artists whose work has the potential for both commercial success and social impact;
 - Collaborative teams engaging in social practice;
 - Platforms and initiatives dedicated to uplifting and supporting other artists and creativity.

We supported projects through both grants and investments, with the goal of helping artists become sustainable, while allowing them space and time to weave their social justice work into the DNA of their creative process and business model.
Quiet engaged with artists throughout the year, seeking their input and expertise through:
- Quarterly check-ins with an independent research firm
 - Feedback on the agreement and term sheets
 - Input on an artist support/creative services model
 - Participation in small dinners with other Quiet-supported artists

Listening Reports
When Quiet set out to explore a new approach to supporting artists and their role in society, we held one commitment as our compass rose: We would be a learning community evolving quietly, constantly asking questions of ourselves, and of others’ experiences of us, with the answers informing our culture and our ways of working.
Through our learning journey, we have engaged in a deeper exploration of the artist’s experience, which directly informed Quiet’s community, programming, collaboration, agreements, and storytelling. With the support of an independent research team, we have been able to develop ways of working that can be shared with kindred artists and organizations.
