Round 5 of the Quiet Listening sessions focused on deepening the understanding of the lifecycle of artistic ideas, from inception to their far-reaching impacts. Through intimate and thoughtful discussions, artists shared their journeys, highlighting Quiet's profound influence on their lives and communities. This round reaffirmed Quiet's positive impact, particularly in fostering artistic sovereignty and aligning community values. While the findings revealed significant cultural and behavioral shifts, they also underscored the need for enhanced financial transparency and support to ensure sustainable growth. The synthesis of these insights points to a holistic approach, where the Quiet community continues to nurture creativity and connection amidst a rapidly evolving global landscape.

When Quiet set out to explore a new approach to supporting artists and their role in society, we held one commitment as our compass rose: We would be a learning community evolving quietly, constantly asking questions of ourselves, and of others’ experiences of us, with the answers informing our culture and our ways of working.
Through our learning journey, we have engaged in a deeper exploration of the artist’s experience, which directly informed Quiet’s community, programming, collaboration, agreements, and storytelling. With the support of an independent research team, we have been able to develop ways of working that can be shared with kindred artists and organizations.
